Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team continued its dominance in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play by defeating Potsdam 12-3 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights defense came out strong as they did not allow a goal for the first three quarters of action. Geneseo's impressive defensive effort was led by two-time SUNYAC Defensive Play of the Week winner, Mark Pav.
- Geneseo's offense took advantage of the defensive effort as they dropped nine goals in the opening half. Senior attacker Kevin Cook extended the Knights lead early in the second quarter by scoring three-consecutive goals.
- Leading 9-0 after halftime, junior midfielder William McCumiskey tacked on the lone goal of the third quarter to make it a 10-0 advantage. The Knights eventually led by as much as 12-0 after goals from Cook and Christian Marcello, Jr. in the fourth quarter.
- Geneseo's 12-3 win improved their record to 5-5 and 3-0 in SUNYAC action.

- Pav only allowed one goal in 52 minutes played, and the Knights have only allowed nine goals through three conference games. They have won four of their last five games and have allowed an average of 4.6 goals per game during that stretch.
- Cook led the offensive effort with five points on four goals and one assist, while Drew Liguori, Sean Byrne, and Marcello Jr. all added three points.
- Seniors Ryan Lee and Tommy Devito combined for a dominant performance on faceoffs going 14-17.
