Men's Lacrosse Falls in Semifinals

ROCHESTER, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team lost in the Empire 8 semifinals vs. St. John Fisher 18-9. The Knights finish the season with an overall record of 12-6 and 7-3 on conference play.

WHAT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights took a 5-1 lead over the Cardinals to open the first, led off by Ryan Trebing who scored at 14:04. Five other Knights recorded goals before Fisher got their feet under then and brought the score to 6-5.
  • The teams headed into halftime tied 8-8, with the Knights goals scored by Ian Leahey at 8:06 and Jacob Pensabene, who squeaked on in with under a minute to tie it up.
  • Geneseo was unable to keep the momentum going, letting up 10 goals in the second half and only adding one themselves in the fourth quarter, falling to the Cardinals 18-9.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Aksel Stanat recorded two goals and two assists, finishing the season with 26 goals and 12 assists.
  • Josh Knapp had two caused turnovers today, totaling the season with 31 to lead the team.
