Box Score 2 BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore infielder Audrey Minton and sophomore outfielder Leah VanDerwarker each hit home runs as the Knights earned a doubleheader sweep at Brockport to clinch the number one seed in the SUNYAC West division.
GAME 1 - GENESEO 6, BROCKPORT 2

It was a joint effort at the pitcher's circle between sophomore pitcher Mattie Woodard and senior pitcher Nicole Schwartz. Woodard pitched 4.1 innings, allowing only one earned run and struck out seven batters. Schwartz came in in relief and pitched 2.2 innings, allowing only three hits and recording one strikeout.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Knights responded quickly, as sophomore infielder Audrey Minton hit a three-run home run in the top of the third to put the Knights ahead. Senior outfielders Rachel Mihlstin and Samantha Seeger scored on the home run.

The Knights picked up two more runs in the fourth inning. Sophomore infielder Olivia Fazio walked and was advanced to third by junior catcher Katherine Hayes on an error. Fazio scored on a wild pitch. Mihlstin singled in the next at bat, and then stole second, allowing Hayes to score on the throw.

Geneseo got an insurance run in the 6th inning to put away the Golden Eagles. Sophomore infielder Anna Johnston hit an RBI single to score Fazio.
GAME 2 - GENESEO 6, BROCKPORT 3

First year pitcher Lauren Kersch and sophomore pitcher Elizabeth Eberhardt combined to earn the victory for the Knights. Kersch went 3.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out three batters. Eberhardt went 2.1 innings allowing only three hits and striking out two Golden Eagles.

It was a quick start for the Knights, as VanDerwarker went yard to center field in the leadoff spot to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. She tripled in the third inning, and scored on an RBI single by Seeger which gave Geneseo a 2-0 lead.

The Knights put three past Brockport in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. Kersch singled to lead off the inning and scored on an RBI double by Hayes. Hayes would score as well, with Mihlstin providing an RBI single. Mihlstin scored on an error later in the inning.

Brockport responded with three runs themselves in the fourth inning, but the Knights tacked on another a insurance run in the fifth. Junior infielder Taylor Riccardi singled to lead off the inning, and later scored on an error.
