Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior attacker James Pratt scored a career-high six goals and tied a career-high with eight points as the Knights took care of State University of New York (SUNYAC) opponent Oswego 19-8 Thursday at Laker Turf Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED?
- Geneseo scored the first five goals of the game and led at the end of the first quarter 5-1. Pratt tallied two goals and an assist in the first quarter while first-year face-off specialist BB Syrop earned his first career goal late in the frame.
- Junior attacker Kevin Cook scored a hat-trick in the second quarter, tallying three of the Knights four goals in the period. Sophomore midfielder William McCumiskey added a score as the Knights built a 9-3 lead, taking the six-goal advantage into the halftime break.
- The Knights picked up where they left off, winning the quarter 4-1 over Oswego. The Lakers scored first, but the Knights rattled off the next four as Pratt, senior attacker Tim Fallo and senior attacker Connor Griffin all scored unassisted goals. McCumiskey scored his second of the day with an assist from Pratt as the Knights carried a 13-4 advantage into the final frame.
- Geneseo outscored the Lakers, 4-3, in the fourth quarter as Cook notched two more scores. Junior midfielder Liam Thompson added his second goal in as many games as the Knights finished the game with a 19-8 victory.
