Box Score CRESSON, PA. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Hannah Stockman finished with a team-high 13 points as the Knights rolled to a 61-36 victory over Penn State Altoona on the second day of the Mountain Valley Tip-Off Classic at Mount Aloysius College's Athletic Convocation and Wellness Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights started hot from the floor, shooting 7-for-10 in the first quarter as junior forward Lauren Romito led the way with six first-quarter point on 3-for-3 shooting. Altoona kept pace and even held a 10-9 lead midway through the period but Geneseo finished the frame leading, 15-12.
- Stockman and sophomore guard Kelly McLaughlin combined for 14 second quarter points, leading the Knights on a 12-2 run to take a 30-16 lead. The Knights' defense limited the Nittany Lions to just seven second quarter points as Geneseo entered the halftime break leading, 33-19.
- Geneseo outscored Penn State Altoona, 16-9, in the third quarter to extend its lead to 21 points, 49-28.
- The Knights defense held the Nittany Lions to just 7-for-31 (22.6%) shooting in the second half as Geneseo continued pulling away to earn the 61-36 victory.
QUICK FACTS
- Stockman (13), Romito (12) and McLaughlin (11) each finished with double-digit points while sophomore forward Kerry Dennin grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
- The Knights shot 25-for-45 (55.6%) from the floor including 5-for-14 (35.7%) from beyond the arc and outrebounded PSU Altoona, 40-19.
