GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team faced Hamilton on Wednesday night, and clinched a 65-49 victory to improve their record to 6-2 overall.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo opened the game with seven straight points before Hamilton knocked down a three-pointer to get on the board. The Knights closed the quarter with solid separation, holding a 20-15 lead at the buzzer.
• The second quarter was low-scoring on both sides, with each team putting up eight points. Maggie McGrane and Audrey Hintz each sank jumpers in the paint to give the Knights some breathing room. Geneseo held a 28-23 advantage over Hamilton at the half.
• The Knights came alive in the third quarter, pouring in 23 points while Hamilton managed 15. The Knights shot 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, with Kristin Suydam, Aliza Whitehead, and Grace Galgano each connecting. Geneseo carried a 51-38 lead going into the fourth.
• The Knights continued to dominate in the final quarter, with Hintz leading the charge with eight points. Geneseo closed the night with a 65-49 win.

QUICK FACTS:

• Galgano powered the offense with 16 points, while also contributing 10 rebounds and four steals.
• Hintz delivered a strong outing, going 7-11 from the floor and totaling 14 points. McGrane also reached double-digit scoring with 11 while chipping in six assists.
• Geneseo scored 20 points off turnovers, including nine on fast breaks.
