ROCHESTER, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team faced off against Springfield College on Saturday night, and fell 58-53. The Knights now hold a 3-2 overall record.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Springfield got an early lead against Geneseo in the first quarter, and kept the pressure on to close the quarter with a 19-8 advantage over the Knights.
- The Knights put their foot on the gas in the second quarter to narrow the deficit. By the end of the half, Geneseo trailed 25-21.
- Springfield maintained their lead as the third quarter started, but the Knights were able to bounce back to keep it within two as the clock expired.
- In the fourth quarter, the Knights battled but were unable to secure the comeback win, falling 58-53.
QUICK FACTS:
- Kristin Suydam went 7-for-7 on the free-throw line and 3-for-5 from the field.
- Grace Galgano racked up 11 points and five rebounds.
- Galgano and Maggie McGrane earned All-Tournament Team honors for their efforts over the past two games.
