GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo softball team split a doubleheader with visiting Cortland in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Saturday. The Knights earned a 3-2 victory in the opener on a walk-off double by senior right fielder Alyssa Presutti, but fell, 8-3, in a game-two decision that eliminated the Knights from postseason contention.

Sophomore left fielder Danni Napoli went 3-for-3 including a two-run home run while senior pitcher Alexis Kidder (6-3) scattered nine hits to earn the complete-game decision to lead the Knights to victory in the opener.

Geneseo brought the first two runs of the game across in the bottom of the third inning. First-year second baseman Brooke Wolff led things off, battling back from an 0-2 count to knock a 3-2 pitch up the middle before advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt by Presutti. Napoli followed with her fifth round-tripper of the season, lofting a ball over the left field fence for the 2-0 lead.
