Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior attackman Ryan Gulbransen tallied three points on two goals and one assist for the Knights but it was host St. John Fisher taking the 8-6 non-conference victory, Saturday afternoon.
Senior midfielder Steve Aziz, senior attackman Steven Cregan, sophomore midfielder Michael Engstrom and junior midfielder Joe Chiara each added a goal in the setback.
Trailing 2-0 at 8:00 in the second quarter, Gulbransen scored unassisted to put Geneseo on the board. With 1:59 on the clock, the Cardinals (7-5) tacked on another goal to take a 3-1 lead which held into halftime.
Just 16 seconds into the third quarter, Gulbransen recorded a man-up goal to bring the Knights back within one, 3-2. Under a minute later at 13:50, Engstrom scored to tie the game at three. However, the hosts responded with three-straight goals, including a man-down score, to take a 6-3 lead into the final period of play.
At 14:16 in the fourth quarter, Aziz scored to make it 6-4. After a man-up goal from Chiara at 12:10, Cregan scored at 5:55 to tie the game at six. St. John Fisher responded with a man-up goal just over a minute later and secured the victory with a goal with 50 seconds remaining in the game.
Senior midfielder Parker Weeks picked up a game-high eight ground balls while first-year goalkeeper Michael Yehl had 18 saves.
Geneseo returns to conference play this Tuesday opposite Oneonta at home at 4 p.m.
