Men's Lacrosse Falls At No. 2 RIT, 24-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior attackman Steven Cregan scored his team-leading 15th goal of the season in the Knights 24-1 setback at No. 2 RIT, Wednesday afternoon.

Senior midfielder Eddie Kiesa started the scoring for the Tigers with a goal at 14:23 in the first quarter. After another RIT tally at 10:21, the hosts tacked on three goals in a one-minute span to take a 5-0 lead at 7:25. With 1:45 on the clock, sophomore attackman Ryan Lee scored a goal to give the Tigers an 11-0 lead going into the second quarter.

RIT (10-0) continued to find the back of the net in the second quarter. Junior attackman Kyle Sterzin recorded his third goal of the afternoon to make it 13-0 at the 9:33 mark. The Tigers went on to score three more goals to take a 16-0 advantage at 4:31.

With 1:41 remaining in the half, Cregan scored a man-up goal off an assist from senior midfielder Steve Aziz to put Geneseo on the board, 16-1. RIT tallied a goal with a second on the clock to take a 17-1 lead into halftime.

At 9:03 in the third quarter, RIT scored their third goal of the quarter to go up 20-1 but Geneseo held the hosts scoreless for the remainder of the period.

The Knights (4-4) return to conference play this Saturday at Plattsburgh. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
