Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Jaisen Clark and senior midfielder Neil Allen each tallied three shots in the second half but it was host Potsdam coming away with the 1-0 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday.
Geneseo (9-7-2, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) clinched the fifth seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and will travel to fourth-seeded Potsdam for a match on Saturday, November 1st at 1 p.m. The winner will play top-seeded Oneonta in the semifinals on November 5th at 1 p.m.
"It was just one of those days where we couldn't find the back of the net," said head coach Dominic Oliveri. "We had a lot of solid looks offensively but we just couldn't convert. While we controlled play much of the game, the result isn't what we wanted."
Geneseo recorded 10 shots in the first 45 minutes and held the Bears to just two but was unable to get on the scoreboard as the game remained scoreless at the half.
Potsdam (9-7-2, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) tallied the game's lone goal in the 54th minute when senior forward Cliff Bondi scored after colliding with Knights' junior goalkeeper Logan Calvey.
Calvey recorded two saves in the loss as the team outshot Potsdam, 17-5, and earned an 8-0 margin in corner kicks.
The team plays its final game of the regular season at St. John Fisher Wednesday, October 29th at 7 p.m.
