GENEVA, OH- The Geneseo Women's Track & Field took 7th place at the NCAA Championships. Penelope Greene claimed the National Championship in the 10,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 33:46.70, breaking a 43-year-old meet record and the 5,000-meter with a personal best ime of 16:01.55. 10 Atjletes earned All-American Honors this weekend.
DAY 1:
Jill Ambler had a strong showing in the women's long jump to open the day for the Knights. In the 4x100, Sam Pynn, Brynn Mooney, Jill Ambler, Kayla Anastasia crossed the line at 47.28, whereas the 4x400m team of Nicole Gretzinger, Jill Ambler, Sierra Doody, Brynn Mooney finished at 3:49.56. Ann Brennan qualified for finals in the steeplechase, placing second overall in prelims with a time of 10:33.41, tying her personal best. In the 10,000-meter, Penelope Greene led the way, taking first place and was followed closely by Gabriella McCarthy in sixth with a time of 34:51.59 and Lilly Fowler-Connor with her time of 35:08.11.
DAY 2:
Ann Brennan highlighted day two for the Knights, taking 6th place in the steeplechase with a personal best of 10:33.24. Jill Ambler took 10th place in the 100-meter hurdles, with an impressive 14.13 finish, while Brynn Mooney competed in the 400-meter with a time of 56.20. Janelle Eckl and Sierra Doody raced in their final 800-meter race, crossing at 2:12.52 and 2:15.79 respectively.
DAY 3:
Penelope Greene took home her second national title in the 5,000-meter, crossing the lin at 16:01.55 with a 15-second buffer between her and second place. Zoe Connors earned All-American Honors in the hammer throw, earning 13th place with her 50.89 throw.
