ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's outdoor track and field team won their first Empire 8 title on Saturday, posting 275 points, with St. John Fisher in second at 153. The championship marks the Knights ninth-straight conference title and 18th overall.
DAY TWO - The team of
Amanda Burren,
Stella Riley,
Lindsay Tellez, and
Kayla Anastasia opened up the track portion of the meet in the 4x100 relay by finishing in second place in 49.28 seconds.
Shelby Boise followed it up in the 1500m by racing to a meet record time of 4:37.69.
Greylynn Guyer,
Alexa Kosier, and
Kaitlyn Hotaling joined Boise in the top eight by placing third, fourth, and sixth, respectively.
Amanda Burren and
Sophia Barclay took fourth and fifth in the 100m hurdles, Lindsey Tellez and Anastasia added seven points in the 100m by placing fourth and seventh. Geneseo was dominant in the 800m with
Sierra Doody leading the way in the 800m with a meet record time of 2:10.43, while
Dakota Limbert,
Nicole Gretzinger, and
Hannah Wierer completed the sweep of the top four spots.
Sophia Barclay kept the winning ways going in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 1:03.49, while
Stella Riley took third. Tellez picked up eight more points in the 200m with a time of 25.17 in second place. Geneseo tacked on 30 more points to their total in the 5000m, with six runners in the top eight.
Ann Brennan led the way at 17:35.24 in first place, while
Annika Hurley,
Katie Bauman,Â
Annabelle Czekanski,
Ella Grinnell and
Lily Benza joined her in the top eight. The Knights capped off the track portion of the meet with the team ofÂ

Nicole Gretzinger,
Hannah Wierer, and
Dakota Limbert in the 4x400 relay.
Mackenzie Kubat picked up the win for Geneseo in the heptathlon, winning five of seven events with 4800 points. Teammate
Chloe Abbott picked up the third place finish for Geneseo.
Miley Cunningham and
Ashley Tubbs both finished top eight in the discus, while
Elaina Flaitz took fourth in the high jump.
Payton Mehalick led the way in the shot put with a distance of 12.16m in third, while
Lauren Jaklitsch took fourth.
DAY ONE - The SUNY Geneseo women's track and field team sits in first place after day one of the Empire 8 Championship Meet, hosted by St. John Fisher. The Knights have 92 points in first place, while Nazareth is close behind in second at 79.
Greylynn Guyer provided a big highlight for the Knights early, setting a new meet record in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:36.21.
Ann Brennan and
Alexa Kosier were right behind in second and third, respectively, while
Olivia DeCarvalho took sixth to mark 27 points for the Knights in the event. The momentum continued for Geneseo in the 400m, with
Nicole Gretzinger taking first at 56.88 and
Sierra Doody in second at 57.12.
Sophia Barclay and
Stella Riley finished fourth and fifth in the event to add another 27 points to the Knights total. The team of
Dia Sweet,
Kaitlyn Miller,
Hannah Wierer, and
Dakota Limbert won the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:31.16, then
Annika Hurley rounded out the track events in the 10,000m with a time of 37:08.67 in third.
In the field events, the Knights put up 13 points in the hammer throw as
Ashley Tubbs took second at 48.80m, while
McKenzie Zafuto earned fifth and
Payton Mehalick came in at eighth.
Kayla Anastasia added four points in the long jump at 5.44m, and Mehalick chipped in five more in the javelin with a distance of 31.14m.
