ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo track and field team competed in their final meet before Regionals this coming week, traveling to St. John Fisher for the Last Chance Meet on Sunday.
The team of
Samantha Pynn,
Brynn Mooney,
Jillian Ambler, and
Kayla Huba took first overall in the 4x100 relay with a time of 47.35, while Mooney also took on the 4x400 relay with
Nicole Gretzinger,
Janelle Eckl, and
Sierra Doody, who finished second at 3:46.26. In the 200m, the Knights swept the top three spots with
Lindsay Tellez leading the way at 25.68. Ambler picked up another first place finish on the day, posting a distance of 5.79m in the long jump, while
Lanna Wandy and Eckl took third and fourth, respectively.
Zoe Connor competed in the shot put for Geneseo and took second at 50.57m, while
Skyler Klimow rounded out the competition on the women's side with a first place finish in the javelin at 38.46m.
On the men's side,
Andrew Kent and
Jack Towns took first and second, respectively, in the 400m, while
Sam Viglione and
Thomas Blake went first and second in the 5000m. In the 400m hurdles,
Brendan Style took third at 54.80.
Sean Stewart and
Chris Desiderio rounded out the top performers for the Knights in the triple jump, placing third and fourth at 13.30m and 13.29m, respectively.
