MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The SUNY Geneseo track and field teams completed their 2024 outdoor season on Saturday, May 25 at the NCAA Championship meet in Myrtle Beach. The women's team finished in 20th overall, tallying 10 points behind two All-American performances from
Penelope Greene, and one from
Rachel Hirschkind.
Penelope Greene highlighted the final day of competition with a fantastic finish to the 5,000m race, where she out-kicked her opponent down the stretch to secure eighth place overall and First-Team All-American honors. Greene finished the race in 17:00.82, recording her second All-American honors of the meet.
Zoe Connor took on the hammer throw and finished tied for 21st overall, while
Ally Alvira competed in the triple jump and finished 22nd overall.
Lance Jensen earned a spot in the 400m hurdles, but was ultimately disqualified from the race in the defense of his 2023 title in the event. For the full list of results,

DAY TWO RECAP - The SUNY Geneseo track and field team competed at day two of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 24.
Rachel Hirschkind highlighted the day with a third place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase, earning First-Team All-American honors.
Hirschkind posted a time of 10:23.12, to finish third in the Steeplechase and bring home the second First-Team All-American honors for the Knights at the meet so far.
Brynn Mooney also competed for Geneseo, taking on the 400m and finishing 18th with a time of 57.06.

DAY ONE RECAP - The SUNY Geneseo track and field teams traveled to Myrtle Beach on Thursday, May 23 for the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Penelope Greene highlighted the first day of the competition, bringing home some hardware for Geneseo with a sixth-place finish and First-Team All-American honors in the 10,000m.
Bryan Jacobs opened the competition for the Knights in the long jump, where he finished 21
st overall with a distance of 6.78m.
Lance Jensen was the next up for the Knights as he began his defense of last year's 400m hurdle championship. Jensen got off to a hot start as he posted the second fastest time in the prelims at 51.63. The Candor, N.Y. native secured All-American status and will move on to the finals scheduled for Saturday, May 25 at 6:25 p.m.
Rachel Hirschkind competed in the 3000m steeplechase prelims for Geneseo, entering the meet with the fastest time in Division III so far this season. Hirschkind backed up her regular season performance and qualified for the finals with a time of 10:30.98. The Monroe, N.Y. native locked up All-American honors for her performance and will now compete in the finals, scheduled for Friday, May 24 at 7 p.m.
Alex Hillyard competed on the men's side in the 3000m steeplechase, and finished 20
th overall at 9:28.53.
Penelope Greene rounded out the first day of competition for Geneseo in the 10,000m. Greene finished in sixth place with a time of 35:56.71 to earn First-Team All-American honors. The Sag Harbor, N.Y. native will also compete in the 5,000m race for Geneseo, scheduled for Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m.
