Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team traveled to Oneonta on Saturday afternoon and left with a dominant victory and a pair of new program records. Graduate attacker Hannah Marafioti entered the contest needing two points and one assist to set the career program records in each respective category and she finished the game with eight points on six goals and two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marafioti wasted no time getting on the board as she netted the first goal of the game just two minutes into play. The Red Dragons were able to keep the score close early on, and Marafioti found the back of the net for the second time and the record setting point with nine minutes left to play in the first quarter as Geneseo took a 4-2 lead.
- The Knights went on to pull away in the closing minutes of the first quarter as they took a 9-4 lead into the second quarter.
- Geneseo kept that momentum going and they were able to extend their lead to ten goals before the close of the first half.
- Early in the second half Marafioti tallied her first assist of the game to set the program record, and the Knights were able to cruise to a 21-9 win.
QUICK FACTS
- Marafioti's eight points led the offensive effort, while Molly Brown chipped in six points on three goals and three assists. Megan Cook and Megan Henderson each tallied four points.
- Sophomore Emily DeJohn played all 60 minutes in goal and finished with 12 saves to earn her 11th win of the season.
- Geneseo has now won 11 of the last 12 matchups against the Red Dragons and have clinched at least the No. 2 seed for the SUNYAC tournament.

The Knights will head to St. John Fisher on Thursday, April 28 before closing out the regular season at home on April 30 against New Paltz.
