Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team stayed hot in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Wednesday afternoon as they took out Fredonia 21-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Devils came out strong, holding the Knights to just a one-goal lead halfway through the first quarter. Graduate attacker Hannah Marafioti and first-year attacker Madelynn Brown each tacked on a goal in the final five minutes to give Geneseo some momentum heading to the second frame.
- The Knights ran with the momentum they gained as they outscored Fredonia 8-0 in the second quarter and took a 13-2 lead into the second half.
- Geneseo's defense continued to play shutout lacrosse in the second half as they did not allow a goal in the final 30 minutes of play. The Knights tallied eight more goals to close out the 21-2 victory.

- Marafioti finished the game with two goals and two assists, bringing her career totals to just two points and one assist shy of breaking the respective program records.
