GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten at home in 2022 as they took out Plattsburgh 19-5 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights wasted no time taking control of the game as five different players scored in the first 10 minutes of the game, and then graduate attacker Hannah Marafioti netted three of Geneseo's final four goals of the first quarter as they took a commanding 9-0 lead.
• Plattsburgh was able to settle down in the second quarter of play and ended up cutting the Knights lead to 10-3 heading into the second half.
• Geneseo quickly put to rest any thoughts of a comeback from the Cardinals in the third quarter as they opened up with four unanswered goals. The Knights went on to extend their lead in the fourth quarter and won by a 14-goal margin.

QUICK FACTS

• Marafioti dropped seven points on five goals and two assists in the game, and she is now three assists and six points away from breaking the career program record in each category. 
• Madelynn Brown and Molly Brown were also significant contributors to the offense in the game by each tallying five points.
• Four players saw time in goal for the Knights, and sophomore Emily DeJohn earned her 9th win of the season in goal. Emily Salanger led the team in draw controls with five, while Marafioti and Megan Henderson each had a team-high three ground balls.
