Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team couldn't make it two-straight wins to open their 2022 season as they fell 20-6 on Saturday afternoon at No. 8 William Smith.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a high scoring first quarter, the Knights struggled to keep up with the Herons as they trailed 8-2 following the first 15 minutes. Graduate attacker Hannah Marafioti scored the first goal for Geneseo, while sophomore attacker Molly Brown added the second with just five seconds left in the quarter.
- Brown would score the Knights only other goal before the fourth quarter, as they faced a double-digit deficit heading to the final 15 minutes of action.
- Geneseo found its stride in the final period of play as they won the quarter 3-2 behind two goals from sophomore midfielder Emily Salanger and a goal from sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Korzeniewski.
