Box Score HENRIETTA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team opened up the 2022 season in dominant fashion as they traveled to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and came out with a 13-7 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights got on the board first with a goal from sophomore attacker Madelynn Brown, however, the Tigers answered back in the next 11 seconds and then went on to take a 2-1 advantage just over four minutes into the action.
- The quick pair of goals for RIT marked their only goals for the rest of the first half as the Geneseo defense locked them up for the remaining 25 minutes. Sophomore attacker Molly Brown finished the half with a team-high three goals to propel the Knights to a 9-2 advantage.
- The Tiger's defense slowed down Geneseo in the second half, but the 10 unanswered goals from the Knights was too much for them to overcome. The Knights went on to cruise to a 13-7 victory to start the season 1-0.
