No. 16 Women's Lacrosse Takes Down Buffalo State

BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year midfielder Emily Salanger scored a career-high four goals as the Knights rolled past host Buffalo State, 22-3, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Knights opened the game with six-straight goals, holding Buffalo State scoreless for nearly 10 minutes of play. 
  • Geneseo opened up a 12-2 halftime lead as 10 different Knights scored first half goals. Salanger and senior midfielder Megan Henderson each tallied two in the first period to lead the offense. 
  • Buffalo State scored to open the second half, but Geneseo rattled off 10 unanswered goals to close out the game and secure the victory.

QUICK FACTS

  • Senior attacker Sarah Kelly tallied her first career goal as a Knight, one of 12 different Knights to score at least one goal. 
  • Junior goalkeeper Margaret Rosaschi made three saves in nearly 40 minutes of game time, while sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Isenberg made one save over the final 20 minutes of play.
  • Geneseo outshot host Buffalo State, 35-13, and converted on seven free-position shots.
