GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore goalkeeper Margaret Rosaschi made 12 saves, including a stop on a free-position shot in the final seconds, to seal a 15-14 victory over No.15 William Smith on Wednesday afternoon at College Stadium. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights opened a 3-1 lead over the first eight minutes as junior attacker Hannah Marafioti tallied back-to-back free position goals, but William Smith outscored Geneseo, 5-2, the rest of the period to take a 6-5 lead into halftime. 
• In the second half, junior midfielder Megan Henderson scored three-straight goals as Geneseo pulled ahead, 8-7, with 23:27 to play. 
• Senior attacker Tessa Doody and junior attacker Jacqui Thorsen each scored two goals in the second half as the Knights pulled ahead to a 15-11 advantage, but William Smith tallied three-straight goals to draw within one, 15-14, with 4:39 to play. 
• In the final seconds, the Herons earned a free-position shot to potentially tie the game, but Rosaschi stonewalled the attempt and senior defender Caroline McGuigan scooped up the ground ball and ran out the clock to secure the win. 

QUICK FACTS 

• Marafioti, Thorsen and Henderson each finished with a team-high four goals while junior attacker Nicole Voci tallied a goal and four assists. 
• McGuigan recorded a team-high five ground balls while junior defender Caitlyn Merkel and Thorsen each tallied six draw controls and junior midfielder Laura Skrzypczyk caused a pair of turnovers. 
• The Knights improve to 4-3 all-time against William Smith, avenging a 13-10 loss on the road last season.
