GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Mallory Max tallied five goals and three assists to lead the Knights to a 14-8 comeback win against Oneonta in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Geneseo opened the game with four goals in the first six minutes. Sophomore attacker Jacqui Thorsen and Max each tallied one while sophomore attack Hannah Marafioti scored two goals to give the Knights a 4-0 lead.
• The Red Dragons tied the score at 6-6 with 8:36 left in the first half after outscoring the Knights, 6-2, over the next 14 minutes.
• Geneseo entered halftime trailing by one despite a tally by Thorsen with 4:35 to play.
• The Knights shutout the Red Dragons in the second half as first-year goalie Margaret Rosachi saved seven shots in the period.
• Thorsen scored what proved to be the game-winning goal early in the second half as Geneseo outscored the Red Dragons, 7-0, in the second half to earn the victory.

QUICK FACTS

• Max led the team with eight points and five draw controls, followed by Marafioti and Thorsen with four goals apiece.
• Junior midfielder Tessa Doody also tallied a goal while senior midfielder Maddie Lee collected two assists and sophomore midfielder Megan Henderson posted one assist.
• Sophomore defender Caitlyn Merkel added four draw controls and is now ranked sixth in program history for single-season draw controls with 51.
