GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore attacker Hannah Marafioti tallied five goals and two assists to lead the Knights to a 13-11 win over visiting Oswego in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse, Wednesday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Geneseo scored the first six goals of the game, including two by Marafioti, while the Lakers didn't find the net until back-to-back tallies in the final three minutes of the half made it a 6-2 game with 45 seconds on the clock.
• Sophomore attacker Lindsay Hernady scored on a free-position shot with three seconds remaining as the Knights' built a 7-2 halftime edge.
• Oswego stormed back with a 6-1 run during the first 12 minutes of the second half to tie the game, 8-8, with 17:44 on the clock.
• Tied, 10-10, with under five minutes remaining, junior midfielder Tessa Doody scored her second goal of the game to push the Knights ahead with 4:48 to play.
• Marafioti followed 45 seconds later with her fourth tally before putting the game out of reach with her fifth with 1:39 on the clock. 

QUICK FACTS

• Doody was credited with two goals and two assists, while sophomore midfielder Laura Skrzypczyk added two goals and one assist.
• Geneseo finished the game with a 14-11 edge in draw controls, including a team-high eight by sophomore defender Caitlyn Merkel.
• Geneseo out-shot the Lakers, 34-21, while first-year goalie Margaret Rosaschi made five saves to preserve her fifth victory of the season.
• Senior midfielder Mallory Max scored two goals and picked up a team-high four ground balls as the Knights won the ground ball battle, 21-17.
