CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Erin Cregan scored a pair of goals and dished off an assist, but the Knights dropped their State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Semifinal against Brockport, 16-8, on Saturday afternoon at Cortland.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Geneseo (13-4) took a 1-0 lead in the first five minutes as senior attacker Hannah Millich opened the scoring with a free position shot, but Brockport responded with six-consecutive goals to take the lead. 

Cregan netted a free position goal with 10:59 remaining in the first half, but the Golden Eagles tallied five more goals before the half to take an 11-2 advantage into the break. 

In the second half, Brockport led by as many as 11 goals, taking a 13-2 lead with 27:06 remaining. 

Geneseo outscored Brockport, 6-3, the rest of the way, including two goals each from first-year Megan Henderson and junior Mallory Max, but it wasn't enough to earn a win. 

QUICK FACTS

Max finished with a team-high eight draw controls while Cregan finished with three caused turnovers and senior defender Karen Boronczyk caused two turnovers.

Millich scored her 99th career goal while Cregan increased her career totals to 126 goals, 35 assists and 161 points. 

Geneseo and Brockport have split four SUNYAC Tournament meetings, with the Golden Eagles earning wins in each of the last two postseason meetings.
