Box Score

CORTLAND, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Erin Cregan scored three goals while first-year midfielder Tessa Doody added two goals and an assist, but it was No. 15 Cortland holding on for a 13-10 victory, Saturday, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse action.

Neither team led by more than a goal during the first half. Geneseo (5-7, 2-3 SUNYAC) held a 4-3 advantage at 19:56 and then again, 5-4, at 14:45. The Red Dragons notched two-straight goals over the last 11:55 to carry a 6-5 edge into halftime.

Cortland scored a pair of goals in the first two minutes of the second half to build an 8-5 edge at 28:08. However, a pair of tallies by Cregan sandwiched around another by junior attack Rachel Fisher re-tied the game, 8-8, with 20:36 left in regulation.

A 3-1 spurt by the Red Dragons yielded an 11-9 lead with 6:30 to play. Doody netted a free-position attempt with 2:58 remaining, but Cortland tacked on two more goals in the final 1:16 to earn the win.

Knights' sophomore goalie Tess McFadden registered a career-high eight saves in the setback.

Geneseo will play three of its final four games of the regular season at home, starting on Tuesday (Apr. 18) opposite SUNYAC-foe Oswego at 4:00 p.m.
