ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Lauren Corbett and junior Hannah Millich each scored two goals, but the Knights fell to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oneonta, 12-9, on Saturday afternoon.

Junior attacker Rachel Fisher added a goal and an assist while first-year Tessa Doody, sophomore Maddie Lee and senior Kathleen DePillo each scored. Sophomore Mallory Max notched her first career goal as well. Doody led the team with four draw controls and two ground balls while DePillo, Max and first-year Cassidy O'Rourke each recorded a caused turnover. Sophomore goalkeeper Tess McFadden made six saves in net for the Knights.

DePillo opened the scoring at the 2:02 mark, converting a free-position shot to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. After an Oneonta score, Corbett put the Knights back on top, 2-1, at the 8:37 mark. The Red Dragons scored four straight to take a 5-2 lead, but back-to-back tallies from Fisher and Lee drew the Knights to within one, 5-4, with 10:54 to play in the first half. Oneonta tacked on another goal before halftime and the teams entered the break with Geneseo trailing, 6-4. 

In the second half, the Knights outscored the hosts 4-3 over the first 20:02 as a Millich tally brought the team to within one, 9-8 with 9:58 to play. Geneseo had a chance to tie, but the Red Dragons finished the contest on a 3-1 run to clinch the conference victory.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they play host to Brockport.
