Women's Lacrosse Stopped by Rochester, 12-3

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior defender Karen Boronczyk finished with a team-high two caused turnovers and two ground balls as the Knights fell 12-3 to Rochester on Saturday afternoon in Rochester. 

Junior attackers Erin Cregan and Hannah Millich and sophomore midfielder Carly Cullen each notched a goal. Sophomore goalie Tess McFadden made five saves in 57:12 of action while first-year Emmy Lundquist made a save in her collegiate debut.

The Knights opened the game with back-to-back goals to take a 2-0 lead. Cregan and Cullen tallied consecutive scores in a 1:39 span to give Geneseo a two-goal advantage with 18:41 remaining. The Yellowjackets finished the half with eight unanswered scores, gaining an 8-2 lead at the break.

In the second half, Millich added a free-position goal to the Knights' tally, but it stood as the team's lone goal of the half as Geneseo fell to Rochester. 

The Knights will begin State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play on Saturday, Apr. 1 when the team travels to Oneonta.
