Women's Lacrosse Too Much For New Paltz, 20-3, In SUNYAC Opener

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore midfielder Erin Cregan totaled five goals and an assist while senior attack Erin Down chipped in four goals to lead the Knights over visiting New Paltz, 20-3, in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse opener for both squads.

The Knights (6-3, 1-0 SUNYAC) scored 12-consecutive goals to build a 12-1 lead at halftime. A pair of Cregan goals and another by senior midfielder Liz Felix posted the home team to a 15-1 edge with 23:46 remaining in the second half.

Geneseo out-scored the Hawks (3-6, 0-1 SUNYAC) 5-2 the rest of the way to earn its fifth-consecutive victory.

The Knights return to action on Tuesday (Apr. 5) with a 4:00 p.m. trip to Buffalo State before returning home next Saturday (Apr. 12) for a 3:00 p.m. showdown with Cortland.
