Box Score WEBSTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior attacker Katey Hart totaled four goals and three assists while sophomore midfielder Lauren Corbett added four goals and one assist to lead the No. 18 Knights to the 15-4 victory over Buffalo State in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse action, Thursday. The game was played at Webster Schroeder High School.
Geneseo (8-1, 3-1 SUNYAC) scored five of the game's first six goals, including two goals apiece by Hart and Corbett, to lead 5-1 at 18:07 of the first half. The Bengals (4-7, 2-2 SUNYAC) used a 3-1 run over the next eight minutes, including a pair of goals by Alanna Herne, to pull within two, 6-4, with 10:41 on the clock. Junior attacker Erin Down netted her second goal of the half with 5:11 left in the half as the Knights held a 7-4 edge after 20 minutes of play.
It was all Geneseo in the second half as the Knights scored eight-unanswered goals to earn the 11-goal victory. Junior midfielder Liz Felix and Hart each netted two goals, while junior goalie Claudia Coleates registered five saves to keep the Bengals off the board.
Geneseo out-shot Buffalo State, 38-10, for the game, including a 23-5 margin in the first half. The Knights also doubled up the Bengals in ground balls, 16-8, led by four by Felix.
The Knights return to action on Tuesday for a SUNYAC trip to Fredonia slated to start at 4:00 p.m.
