OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior attacker Tara Basile scored a game-high six points on two goals and four assists while junior midfielder Liz Felix added four goals to lead the No. 18 Knights to a 12-6 victory over host Oswego in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse action, Tuesday.

Geneseo (7-1, 2-1 SUNYAC) opened the scoring on a Felix tally 1:13 into the game. Oswego answered less than three minutes later with a goal by Lindsey Eggers, but the Knights used a 3-0 run over the next 10 minutes, started by two Felix goals and finished by the first of three goals in the game by senior attacker Katey Hart, to open a 4-1 lead with 16:37 on the clock.

The Lakers (4-7, 0-4 SUNYAC) scored three of the next four goals, including two-straight tallies by Esther Gabriel, to make it a one-goal game at the 7:24 mark, but a goal by sophomore midfielder Lauren Corbett with 5:36 remaining gave the visitors a 6-4 edge it would carry into halftime.

Junior attacker Erin Down cashed in a Hart assist at the 25:06 mark of the second half, before Hart converted an unassisted goal at 20:47 that made it an 8-4 game in favor of the Knights. Oswego scored on a goal by Emily Lange following a Geneseo yellow card to pull within three at 17:38, but the Knights pulled away down the stretch scoring four of the game's final five goals, including two by Basile and one each by Down and Felix, to seal the win.

Defensively, Hart, Down and first-year midfielder Erin Cregan led the way with four ground balls apiece, while senior defender Aileen Kurpis caused a team-high four turnovers. 

Geneseo is slated to host Buffalo State on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in a game originally scheduled for March 31. It will mark the Knights' first home game of the season.
