Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior midfielder Liz Felix scored four goals, including what proved to be the game-winner with 3:41 left in regulation, to lead the No. 19 Knights to a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over host Oneonta in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse action, Saturday.
Senior attacker Katey Hart logged four assists, including Felix's game-winner, that capped a 4-1 run in the last nine minutes of regulation that brought Geneseo (12-2, 7-2 SUNYAC) back from an early 4-0 first-half deficit. The victory was also the Knights' third one-goal win of the week after defeating Brockport, 8-7, on Tuesday and St. John Fisher, 8-7, in overtime on Thursday.
With the victory, Geneseo clinched the third seed for next week's SUNYAC Tournament and will host sixth-seeded Buffalo State on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in quarterfinal action. If the Knights win, they will advance to play second-seeded Fredonia in the semifinals, hosted by top-seeded Cortland, next Friday. If Buffalo State wins, they will face Cortland in the semis.
Trailing by four with 12:40 remaining in the first half, Felix notched her first goal of the day with 8:08 on the clock before first-year midfielder Julia DePillo tallied with 3:53 left to pull Geneseo within two heading into halftime.
Oneonta (7-9, 4-3 SUNYAC) re-took a three-goal edge, 5-3, only 36 seconds into the second half, but goals by sophomore midfielder Lauren Corbett 17:56 and junior attacker Tara Basile 14:26 pulled the visitors within one, 5-4.
Oneonta went back up by two with a goal at 9:44, but back-to-back tallies by Felix at 8:55 and 7:59 knotted the score, 6-6. The Red Dragons re-took the lead with a tally with 6:16 on the clock, but Corbett re-tied the game at 5:18 with her second goal to setup Felix's game-winner less than two minutes later.
