Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior attacker Katey Hart and first-year midfielder Erin Cregan each totaled three goals and two assists while junior attacker Liz Felix added three goals to lead the No. 18 Knights to a 16-4 victory over visiting Potsdam in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse play, Saturday, at Saratoga Field.
Hart joined defender Aileen Kurpis, goalie Laura Passamonte and defender Alexis Pelowski in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the game.
Geneseo (9-2, 3-2 SUNYAC) scored 11 of the game's first 12 goals to build a 11-3 halftime lead that proved insurmountable. Hart fed junior attacker Tara Basile to open the scoring 2:54 into the game before scoring back-to-back tallies of her own that opened a 3-0 Knights' lead at 25:17.
Junior attacker Erin Down scored the first of her two goals on the day at 20:15, before Potsdam got on the board with a goal by sophomore midfielder Murphy Newman at 19:21.
Geneseo took control of the game with a 7-0 run, including three goals by Cregan and two by Felix that made it an 11-1 lead for the home team. The Bears (4-10, 1-5 SUNYAC) finished the half with a pair of goals by senior midfielder Margaret Wall and senior attacker Bailey Weigel that made the halftime score 11-3 in favor of the Knights.
Hart and Felix kicked off the second half with goals in the first three minutes of the second half, before sophomore midfielder Kathleen DePillo later scored to give Geneseo a 14-3 edge with 16:50 on the clock.
Potsdam junior attacker Bri McClusky scored at 8:36, but goals by Knights' first-year midfielder Julia DePillo and first-year attacker Sam Downs in the final six minutes completed the victory.
Hart became only the fifth player in Knights history to eclipse the 200-point plateau, moving into fifth place with 205 points, while she also broke a tie for second place in career goals with Emily Haggerty '14, totaling 167 to date.
Geneseo will be in action at home twice in the coming week, hosting SUNYAC-rival Brockport on Tuesday, before entertaining St. John Fisher on Thursday. Both games are slated for 4:00 p.m. starts.
