Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior attacker Katey Hart totaled two goals and an assist while junior midfielder Liz Felix and sophomore midfielder Kathleen DePillo each added two goals to lead the No. 18 Knights to the 8-5 victory over visiting Ithaca, Friday.
The Knights (9-2) trailed, 3-1, with 8:37 left in the first half, but scored two goals to tie the game at halftime before notching five of the first six goals of the second half to earn the victory.
Ithaca (7-7) sophomore midfielder Morgan Caldwell scored at 25:42 before junior midfielder Riley Marion scored at 13:34 as the Bombers took the early lead on a pair of free-position shot attempts. Geneseo junior attacker Erin Down converted a nice feed from Hart from close range to put the Knights on the board at 11:27, but Caldwell converted another Ithaca free position opportunity with 8:37 on the first-half clock to put the visitors back up by two.
Felix netted a Knights' free position attempt with 3:20 on the clock before Hart took advantage of a man-up opportunity following a Bomber yellow card, cashing in a feed from sophomore midfielder Sarah Haggerty to knot the game, 3-3, heading into intermission.
Hart made a nice cut in front of the Ithaca cage from the left side and scored her second-straight goal to give the Knights their first lead, 4-3, at 28:08 of the second half. Felix scored on a free-position shot at 21:38, but the Bombers' answered 1:28 later as junior attacker Ally Runyon out-ran the Knights' defense in transition and finished off a feed from Marion to pull the visitors back within one.
DePillo got into the action with back-to-back unassisted tallies in a six-minute span that gave Geneseo a 7-4 edge with 10:36 left in regulation, before sophomore midfielder Lauren Corbett scored on a strong dodge from the top of the 8-meter that yielded a four-goal Knights' edge with 6:09 on the clock.
Ithaca closed the scoring with 2:09 remaining on a goal by senior midfielder Nicki Standera, but it was the Knights finishing off their third win in four outings.
Geneseo junior goalie Claudia Coleates was solid in goal, registering nine saves on the afternoon, while Bombers' sophomore Emily Ross was credited with 13 stops as the Knights built a 29-17 advantage in shots.
Hart's two goals tied her for second on Geneseo's career list with Emily Haggerty '14 (162), while her three points moved her past Maggie Morris '09 into fifth on the all-time scoring list with 197 points to date.
Geneseo returns to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play on Saturday, hosting Potsdam for a 1:00 p.m. start.
