Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. - SUNY Geneseo junior attack Tara Basile scored three goals and had one assist to lead the No. 13 Knights to a 20-1 victory over Nichols, Monday, in a game played at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
Senior attack Katey Hart, junior attack Erin Down, sophomore midfielder Sarah Haggerty and first-years, midfielder Erin Cregan, midfielder Karen Boronczyk and attack Halee Beebe, each tallied two goals on the afternoon.
Geneseo (2-0) opened the game with seven unanswered goals. After a score from Down and Hart at 25:17 and 24:36, respectively, Haggerty found the back of the net at 22:16 to make it 3-0. Hart scored her second unassisted goal of the half at 21:45 and Basile tallied back-to-back scores for the Knights to make it a 7-0 game at 15:52.
Nichols (1-1) got on the board at 13:38 but Geneseo responded with six-straight goals. Beebe scored at 12:22, while first-year attack Rachel Fisher scored at 11:13. After a Boronczyk tally at 10:33, Cregan scored her first goal of the game off an assist from first-year attack Sam Downs to make it 11-1. A goal by Haggerty at 3:34 and one from Downs with 18 seconds on the clock gave the designated home team a 13-1 advantage at halftime.
Cregan started the scoring for the Knights in the second half at 26:44 as Basile tallied her third of the game just under a minute later to make it 15-1. Boronczyk scored a free-position shot at 22:27 and first-year midfielder Alexis Graham recorded a goal at 18:35 to give Geneseo a 17-1 lead. Beebe recorded a goal at 13:24, first-year midfielder Julia DePillo hit a free-position shot at 8:05 and sophomore midfielder Lauren Corbett tallied the Knights' final goal of the game with 47 seconds remaining.
Geneseo returns to action this Wednesday opposite the University of New England at 11 a.m. at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
