"We really executed what we've been working on and it came together today. While the wind was certainly a factor for the entire game, we still moved the ball well and showed we weren't affected by it," said head coach Nate Wiley. "We played well defensively, took advantage of our opportunities and did everything we wanted to do. This team deserves all the credit for never giving up this season on sticking to the style of play we implemented at the start of the year."
In the 15th minute, junior forward Kelsey Raschke recorded her seventh goal of the season after scoring from two yards out after Greene headed her the ball off a cross from the right side from junior midfielder Danielle Sheehan.
Green handed out her second assist of the game in the 29th minute when she delivered a pass to sophomore midfielder Emily Green for a goal from 10 yards out to give Geneseo a 2-0 lead that it took into halftime.
In the 59th minute, Greene scored from six yards out and put the game out of reach after she chipped the ball over Cardinals' keeper Danielle Schmitt, who came off the goal-line in attempt to collect a free-kick by sophomore back Alexa Wandy.
The Knights outshout Plattsburgh, 11-4, as senior keeper Allison Stamp made two saves to preserve the team's 13th shutout of the year.
