Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Erin O'Connor totaled two goals and an assist to lead the Knights to a 7-0 shutout of Lycoming, Saturday, in the home-opener at Saratoga Field.
Geneseo (2-3) scored four minutes into the game on an unassisted tally by senior midfielder Alexa Vojvodic en route a 3-0 halftime lead, and netted four more goals in the second half as six Knights found the net on the afternoon.
"It is always a good thing as a coach to see the things you practice during training executed during a game, " said head coach Nate Wiley. "It was also good to see some of your younger players score some goals and get some more confidence going."
Senior midfielder Alexa Krebs intercepted a clearing attempt and scored on a 10-yard strike to make it a 2-0 game in the 24th minute. Nine minutes later, Krebs fed a nice pass through the Lycoming defense that senior forward Amanda Gray collected and scored from 15 yards for the 3-0 halftime edge.
