CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's golf team competed at the NWGC Championship Match on Sunday, April 19 and Monday, April 20. The Knights finished third overall at the championship match out of seven teams, improving on last season's fourth place finish.

Avery Smith led the Knights over the 36 hole match, carding a 90 on day one and an 83 on day two for a fifth place finish individually. Smith's round of 83 was highlighted by a fantastic start to the back nine, shooting -2 on the opening four holes with back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12. Close behind Smith was Jillian Draper, shooting a 91 and 87 for eighth place overall. Draper's pair of rounds was highlighted by five pars on day one, and eight on day two. Lydia Hickey and Annabel Barberich rounded out the top four for the Knights, finishing 18th and 20th, respectively.
