BLOOMFIELD, C.T. - The SUNY Geneseo women's golf team traveled to Wintonbury Hills Golf Club on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 for the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship Tournament. The Knights came away with a fourth-place finish out of 11 teams at the tournament.
The Knights sit in seventh place through day one of competition, with not all teams and athletes able to complete the full 18 holes.
Brooklyn Rogers and
Jillian Draper lead the Knights so far, as they both completed their rounds and posted scores of 91 and 92, respectively. Rogers round was highlighted by two pars on the front nine on holes two and eight for a 43, while Draper recorded a 44 with a par on the par 3 seventh hole.
Lydia Hickey completed 15 holes on Saturday and sits at 84, while
Hanna Bechard is at 88 through 14 holes and
Shannon McCrory 94 after 16.
Without the full day of competition complete for all teams in day one, only the front nine scores were taken after the first day, putting the Knights at +49 and in fifth place overall. Geneseo put up an impressive team performance on day two to overtake Nazareth for fourth place, shooting +113 as a team. Draper led the team on day two with a 93, including a 45 on the front nine with a pair of pars. Rogers added a 96 with five pars on the day, while Hickey chipped in a 97. Bechard and McCrory rounded out the competition for Geneseo with a 107 and 113.
