GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's golf team hosted Nazareth in their season opening match at Livingston Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, but the Knights were unable to open the season on with a victory, falling 4-1.
Avery Smith picked up the point for Geneseo in the match, winning with a convincing score of 6&5. Smith's round was highlighted by very consistent play, tallying two pars and six bogeys on the front nine to be up by five holes at the turn. Smith then tallied a par on the 10th hole to begin her back nine, and finished off her victory with a bogey on the par three 13th hole to secure the 6&5 win.
