ROME, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's golf team finished in third place at the Empire 8 Championships after the first day of competition on Sunday afternoon at Teugega Country Club. The Knights improved on their first day score of +105, by shooting +101 on the second day to finish in third ahead of Utica.

Jillian Draper led the way for the Knights on day one, carding a 95, while Avery Smith was right behind her with a 96. Draper's round was highlighted by a birdie on the par 5 fifth hole, while Smith picked up pars on holes nine and 18. Lydia Hickey and Avery Keller rounded out the top four for the Knights, as they both posted a 99. The duo each recorded three pars on the day to highlight their rounds.

Hickey recorded the top score on day two, posting a 91 after shooting a 43 on the back nine with two pars and a birdie on the par 3 15th hole. Draper was right behind her with a 93, recording a total of four pars and one birdie. Smith tallied a 98 on day two with two pars, while Keller rounded out the top four with a 107 on the final day.
