GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team competed at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational for their second meet of the outdoor season. The Knights finished third overall out of 13 teams.
Pierce Young and
Emerson Comer kicked things off on a high note for the Knights, finishing first and second, respectively, in the 3000m steeplechase. Young posted a time of 9:29.40, while Comer came in at 9:41.94.
Nick Bauman kept it going for Geneseo in the 1500m with a fourth place finish, while
Lance Jensen took second in the 100m at 11.08.
Tim Sheahan added another first place finish for Geneseo in the 800m, posting a time of 1:56.37. Teammates
Jack Hislop,
Bryan Friedel, and
Dawson Wadsworth finished fifth through seventh.
Jensen returned to the event where he won a national championship in 2023, taking first overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.33. The Knights then finished strong in the 5000m, with
Jack Hicks and
Nate Micillo finishing first and second with times of 15:52.81 and 15:55.02, respectively.
In the field events,
Adam Specht took third overall in the triple jump at 12.91m, whileÂ
