ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team captured its second-straight Empire 8 Championship on Saturday afternoon, scoring 282 points, while Brockport finished second at 214. This marks the Knights eighth-straight conference title, and 13th overall.
DAY TWO - Geneseo opened up the track events on Saturday in the 4x100 relay, where the team of
Trey Feirman,
Andrew Kent,
Jack Towns, and Nate Gonyeau took second at 42.02 seconds. Connorr Hitt followed it up in the 1500m, placing second at 3:57.14, while teammates
Cameron Garofalo and
Emerson Comer took third and fourth, respectively.
William Hawken won the 110m hurdles for the Knights, posting a time of 14.75 seconds, while teammates
Jackson Gloskey and
Adam Johnson took fourth and sixth, respectively.
Tim Sheahan added another win to the Knights meet, finishing first in the 800m at 1:52.06.
Dawson Wadsworth took third, while
Andrew Donner,
Bryan Friedel and Garofalo finished fifth through seventh, respectively.
Sam Belmont kept the winning ways going in the 400m hurdles, earning a meet record time of 52.40 seconds. The Knights added 10 more points in the 200m, behind
Jacob Miller,
Giancarlo Di Fava,
Andrew Kent, and Towns finishing fifth through eighth. Geneseo continued to stack points in the 5000m, with six runners inside the top eight.
Collin Brown led the way in second place with a time of 14:45.94, while
Pierce Young,
James Tette,
Ethan Becker, and
Owen Murphy went third through sixth, while
Kole Owens rounded out the top performers in eighth place. The Knights capped off the track portion of the meet with the 4x400 relay, where the team ofÂ
Arjun Ojha, Wadsworth, Belmont, and Miller set a meet record in first place with a time of 3:13.97.
Daniel Pagan highlighted the second day of competition in the decathlon by winning the event with a score of 6162, where he won four events: 100m, high jump, 110m hurdles and javelin.
Raymond Trottier added eight more points for Geneseo in the shot put, placing second at 15.99m.
Chris Desiderio took fourth in the triple jump at 13.86m, while
Cory Jarvis and Matt Towns joined him in the top eight.
Deklan Semo and
Jayden Carroll added 11 points for the Knights in the discus throw by taking third and fourth, respectively.
DAY ONE - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team put up an impressive performance at day one of the Empire 8 Championship Meet, as the Knights sit in first place with 104 points, leading second place Brockport by 27 points.
The Knights were dominant in the 3000m Steeplechase, led by
Pierce Young who set a meet record with a time of 8:58.96. Following Young were five teammates who placed in the top-eight,
Emerson Comer,
Collin Brown,
James Tette,
Sean Verbosky, and
Max Schnittman, totaling 32 points for Geneseo. The momentum continued in the 400m, where the Knights added another 32 points to their score.
Jacob Miller,
Andrew Kent,
Arjun Ojha, and
Giancarlo Di Fava swept the top four spots, respectively. Miller posted a time of 47.81, while Belmont joined them in the top eight by placing sixth to round out the impressive showing. The team of

Cayden Robleno,
Patrick Klehr, and
Ryan Hagan took third overall in the 4x800 with a time of 7:58.51 for six more points.
Mike Taranto led the pack of Knights in the 10,000m with a time of 31:20.14 in second place, while
Kole Owens,
Drew Cox, and
Jack Hicks joined him in the top eight.
In the field events,
David Lang took fourth in the long jump at 6.92m, while
Trey Feirman also added five points by taking fourth in the pole vault at 4.54m.
Jayden Carroll took eighth in the hammer throw at 48.41m, and Lang tacked on four more points in the javelin at 41.84m to round out the field events.
