ROCHESTER, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team competed at RIT this afternoon.
Sam Belmont kicked things off in the 400m, taking first with a time of 48.80 seconds.
Owen Murphy followed suit in the 800m with a first-place time of 1:54.71, with Sean Verbosy close behind in fourth at 1:57.72. In the 1500m,
Cameron Garofalo finished in first at 4:01.71, while
Mike Taranto and
Drew Cox finished in the top five, all within two seconds of eachother.
The Knights swept the top three spots in the 5000m, with
James Tette leading the pack with a final time of 14:57.59, followed by
Max Schnittman and
Tyler Fischer in second and third.
Johnny Mudge led the way in the 3000m steeple chase, crossing at 9:51.71, with
Owen Willard on his heels in second at 9:51.71.
Logan Baker,
Andrew Donner,
Owen Murphy and
Patrick Klehr took on the 4x400, taking second with a time of 3:34.38.
David Lang took first in the Javelin with a distance of 54.81m, outthrowing second place by almost 10 meters.
Raymond Trottier and
Ryan Friel took first and third in the shotput, throwing 15.13m and 13.40m respectively. In the triple jump,
Cory Jarvis finished on top with a distance of 12.86m while Daniel Page took second in the long jump with a distance of 6.52m.
The Knights will take on the Empire 8 Championships May 1
st and 2
nd, hosted by St. John Fisher.
