PHILADELPHIA, P.A. AND ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team took on some of the best competition in the country at the Penn Relays this weekend, as well as competing at the University of Rochester Spring Twilight Meet on Friday.
On Thursday at the Penn Relays,
Lance Jensen competed in the 400m hurdles and was the top Division III runner, finishing in 11th overall at 52.73.
On Friday at Rochester,
Andrew Kent competed in the 200m and took second overall with a time of 21.86. Kent then competed in the 400m and improved upon his finish, taking first at 48.75.
Matthew Sheehan and
Ryan Hagan kept the momentum going for the Knights, finishing first and second, respectively, with times of 1:52.78 and 1:56.04 in the 800m.
James McNaughton and
Charlie Wilson then added two more first place finishes for Geneseo in the 1500m and 5000m, respectively.
Brendan Style finished second in the 110m hurdles, and then the Knights capped off the track events in the 4x400 relay in first place behind the team of Sheehan, Kent, Gian Carlo Di Fava, and
Brett Doxsee who crossed the finish line in 3:24.72.
In the field events,
Adam Specht led the way for the Knights in both the long jump and triple jump. Specht finished third at 6.78m in the long jump and then second in the triple jump at 13.03m.
Raymond Trottier took third for the Knights in the shot put at 14.12m.
