CORTLAND, N.Y., LEWISBURG, P.A., and BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team competed in invitationals at both Cortland and Bucknell on Saturday, April 13.
Raymond Trottier highlighted the competition for at Cortland for the Knights by finishing first overall in the shot put. Trottier took the top spot with a distance of 13.97m, beating out second place by .04m.
Chris Miller also had a strong showing for the Knights, finishing second in the javelin at 34.86m.
At Bucknell on Saturday,
Alex Hillyard put up a strong performance in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing fifth overall with a time of 9:15.78, while
Pierce Young took 22nd.
Anson Butler picked up a 25th place finish to lead the Knights in the 5000m. Butler crossed the finish line at 14:35.80, while
Austin Schoen was close behind in 31st. In the unseeded 10,000m,
Kyle Gronau took third overall at 30:49.89.
Charlie Wilson capped off Saturday by finishing 22nd in the 10,000m, while teammate
William Hall came in 39th.
On Sunday at Bucknell,
Matthew Sheehan highlighted the 800m by finishing in the top-20 with a time of 1:52.21.
Brendan Style then kept the momentum going in the 110m hurdles, placing 19th at 15.43.
Andrew Kent tacked on another top-20 finish for the Knights in the 400m, finishing with a time of 48.68.
Lance Jensen continued his dominance in the 400m hurdles, placing fourth overall as the top Division III runner in the race with a time of 53.62.
At Brockport, the Knights kicked things off with three runners placing top-10 in the 10,000m. Gabriel Spanbauer led the way in second at 32:42.70, while
Jack Heraty and
Eion McClain placed second and sixth, respectively.
Brett Doxsee kept the momentum going by placing third in the 800m, then the team of
Aaron Langston,
Marcus Lewis,
Drew Cox, and
Dawson Wadsworth took second in the 4x400 relay. In the field events,
Sean Stewart and
Adam Specht took first and second in the triple jump, recording distances of 13.46m and 13.04m, respectively.
