BROCKPORT, N.Y. -Â The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team won their seventh-straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship on Saturday at Brockport. The Knights title also marks their 14th in program history. Geneseo earned the victory with 184.83 points, while Cortland took second at 156 and Brockport third with 141.5.
DAY ONE RECAP
The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team began competition at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship Meet on Friday afternoon at Brockport. The Knights put up a dominant performance in the 5000m, taking the top seven spots for 38 points.
Charlie Wilson led the way, earning the first place finish with a time of 15:18.40, while teammates
Austin Schoen and
Eion McClain finished within a second of Wilson for second and third, respectively.
Alex Hillyard,
William Hall,
Kyle Gronau, and
Dillon McClary rounded out spots four through seven for Geneseo. The Knights added seven more points to their total on the day, with the team of
Pierce Young,
Matthew Sheehan,
Zach Gauronski, and
Micah McCulley finishing fourth in the Distance Medley Relay and
Drew Alloco taking seventh in the pole vault.
Geneseo currently sits second overall with 45 points, while Cortland leads the way with 56 points. For the full results from day one,

DAY TWO RECAP
The Knights kicked off the track events Saturday with the 60m hurdles, where they picked up some key points from
Bryan Jacobs,
Brendan Style,
Jackson Gloskey, and
Sam Belmont. Jacobs led the way in second place with a time of 8.31 seconds. Geneseo continued its momentum in the mile, placing three runners in the top eight for 14 points.
Ryan Hagan took second overall with a time of 4:13.94, while
Nick Bauman, and
Mike Taranto finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
Lance Jensen then provided a big highlight for the Knights, setting a meet and facility record in the 400m. Jensen's time of 48.23 earned 10 points for Geneseo, while
Sam Belmont and
Andrew Kent took seventh and eighth, respectively. In the 800m,
Joshua Goldberg and
Matthew Sheehan earned a crucial 18 points by finishing the race first and second overall. Goldberg took first with a time of 1:54.12, while Sheehan was right behind him at 1:55.94. Jensen continued his impressive day by tacking on eight more points in the 200m, finishing second at 21.90.
Geneseo was still in need of some big points late in the meet, and the Knights came up clutch in the 3000m placing five runners in the top eight for 27 points.
Anson Butler brought home the first place finish with a time of 8:33.08, while
William Hall,
Alex Hillyard,
Charlie Wilson, and
Eion McClain joined him in the top eight. The Knights closed out the track portion of the meet in the 4x400 relay, where they placed third overall with a time of 3:21.29.
The Knights earned a big 17 points in the heptathlon, with
Caleb Clarke leading the way in second place with a score of 4427. Behind Clarke was
Jacob Schmid and
Jonathan McNamara in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Bryan Jacobs added 10 points for Geneseo in the long jump with a distance of 7.14m for first place. For the full results from the meet,
