ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team traveled up to Nazareth for the Conference Challenge Cup on Saturday afternoon and put up some impressive performances en route to a second place finish overall.
Highlighting the track events for the Knights were
Lance Jensen and
Andrew Kent in the 200m, finishing first and second overall, respectively, with times of 22.33 and 22.50. In the 4x400 relay, the team of Jensen, Kent,
Sam Belmont, and
Brendan Style took the top spot at 3:21.18. In the 3000m,
Anson Butler put up a strong performance by finishing second with a time of 8:39.93 while
Micah McCulley took fifth at 8:50.38.
Charlie Wilson took second for Geneseo in the 5000m, posting a time of 15:05.94, while
Alex Hillyard finished fourth at 15:09.83.
Nick Bauman kept the strong showing going for Geneseo, taking third in the mile with a time of 4:23.28 while
Mike Taranto finished fifth at 4:24.70. In the 60m hurdles,
Bryan Jacobs (8.43) and
Brendan Style (8.47) finished second and third, respectively.
Matthew Sheehan went on to finish second in the 800m at 2:00.10.
Highlighting the field events, was Jacobs and
Brennan Delaney in the long jump. Jacobs finished first overall at 7.12, while Delaney took third at 6.94. For the full results from the meet,
