GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team began its 2023-24 season at the Houghton December Classic on Friday evening.
The Knights were dominant in the meet, and opened it up in the 5000m by taking second through ninth place.
Austin Schoen led the way for the Knights in second at 14:59.20.
Brendan Style then kept the momentum going for Geneseo by taking first in the 60m hurdles at 8.39.Â
Geneseo had an impressive showing in the 800m, taking spots one through four.
Joshua Goldberg led the way with a time of 1:58.03.
Lance Jensen then set a facility record in 300m by finishing in 34.38, while
Andrew Kent was close behind at 34.73.
Anson Butler competed in the 3000m and took second at 8:45.21. The Knights closed out the track portion in the distance medley relay as the team of
Sam Viglione,
Dawson Wadsworth,
Tim Sheahan, and
Mike Taranto finished first at 11:11.24.
Bryan Jacobs highlighted the field portion of the meet by taking third in the long jump at 6.81.
Adam Specht and
Dylan Olson took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the triple jump.
