GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Track & Field team kicked off the outdoor season by hosting the Geneseo Early Season Invite on Saturday at Alumni Track.
Senior Riley Grossman earned two wins, finishing first in the 5,000 with a time of 14:54.77 and anchoring the Knights' first place 4x400 relay, teaming with Peter Moller, Alec Andrews and Ezra Ruggles to finish in 3:30.24. Ruggles also earned a first-place finish in the 1,500 with a 3:52.24 time. John Goldszer placed first in the 400 (48.85) and Matthew Sheehan crossed first in the 800 (1:55.61) to wrap up the Knights' event winners.
The Geneseo Early Season Invitational will continue on Sunday with the men's and women's hammer throw. The Knights will travel to University of Buffalo on Saturday, April 9 to compete against the NCAA Division I Bulls.
